Eligible to participate:
All players from the DBU, DBU-Light,
as well as all players from
ETBF member countries.
The qualifying rounds are limited to 36 bowlers per squad. The squads on 11.07 and 12.07.2026 are reserved for bowlers who are traveling more than 100km or participating in the German Championships. In the event that a squad has less than 12 bowlers signed up, the tournament directors reserve the right to cancel the squad. If a squad is cancelled, the bowlers will be placed in other squads.

Tournament Format
Qualifying Round
The qualifying rounds will consist of 6 games (re-entries are possible!). Only the bowler’s best series will be counted. The top 16 series will qualify for the intermediate round. The format will be American (bowling on two lanes, alternating lanes each frame). In case of a lower number of entries, the tournament directors reserve the right to reduce the number of qualifiers.
Intermediate Round
The pinfall from the qualifying round will not be carried over to the intermediate round, meaning that all bowlers will start with 0. This will give all qualifiers the chance to reach the final. The intermediate round will consist of 5 games. The top 5 bowlers will qualify for the elimination final. This will also be in the American format. After each game, bowlers who start on an odd-numbered lane will move one pair to the left, and bowlers who start on an even-numbered lane will move one pair to the right.
Final
The elimination final will consist of 4 games. After each game, the bowler with the lowest score (including handicap) will be eliminated until a winner is decided.

Inschrijfgelden:
Entry: € 65,00
Re-entry: € 45,00 Maximaal 1 eerste start + 2 re-entries vooraf te boeken.
A maximum of one start and 2 re-entries can be reserved in advance. These must be paid for before the start of the tournament. Further re-entries can be booked after the start of the tournament. Transferring a reserved entry to another bowler is not possible.
Entry deadline: 14.06.2026
Cancellation:
Cancellation of entries without penalty is possible until the entry deadline. After the entry deadline, the entry fee will be due in full if no replacement bowler is provided. The cancellation must be given in writing and sent by email to rheydt.open2026@vfbrheydt.de. The cancellation will be effective as of the receipt of the email. In the case of a documented illness, the entry fee can be refunded upon request.

Guaranteed prizes based on 162 entries
Squad winner’s prize: The winner of each squad will receive a non-cash prize valued at €100.
Further Information
In the event of equal pinfall after the preliminary or intermediate rounds, the first tiebreaker is the handicap. The bowler with the lower handicap will be placed higher. If the handicap is the same, the next tiebreaker will be the smaller difference between the bowler’s highest and lowest games. If these are equal, then the next tiebreaker is the highest net score.
In the event of equal pinfall in the final round, the tiebreaker will be a classic 9th and 10th frame roll-off.
